Smoked Trout won 2 gold medals at 2017 Australian Food Awards

Eucumbene Trout Farm is celebrating after winning 2 gold medals at the 2017 Australian Food Awards (AFA) for their smoked trout. The farm received a Gold Medal for our smoked trout and also received the Gold Medal for best in class.

The farm has been focusing on value adding to their products while “This is the first time the family-owned business has entered this prestigious competition.”

General Manager Peter Cottrell said “We are thrilled to be a gold medallist, as it really confirms that all the hard work is paying off and our products really are of a high standard amongst some tough competitors.”

The AFA, conducted by The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV) offers Australian producers broad opportunities to leverage their success locally and internationally with AFA’s national brand seal of quality.

We are especially excited to add this to our Silver Medal awarded earlier this year from the Sydney Royal Fine Food Show again for our smoked trout.

Entrants have the opportunity to benchmark against set criteria; receive invaluable independent feedback from industry experts; and be rewarded for excellence. The judges, commented on the “great flavour” of this “excellent product”.

The Farm continues to build with a successive award of excellence from Trip Advisor in 2017.

Customers looking to purchase the award-winning products are encouraged to visit Eucumbene Trout Farm and or their web site for more information. Smoked trout is always on sale at the farm.
